The shape of Galway City Centre is to change with the amazing new development that is currently rolling out for Curley Holdings. Work has commenced on this 50 million euro development at Newtownsmith which will consist of commercial, retail and residential spaces.
The development was designed to establish a continuous street front to Newtownsmith which will engage this prominent site with the adjoining street and city. Consisting of:
Other features in this architecturally designed development include a glass wall from floor to ceiling and glass elevators to ensure maximum use of natural daylight.
The 50,000 sq. ft. development not only fronts on to a main city centre location but also boasts stunning views of the Cathedral, the river Corrib and the Salmon Weir Bridge.
To the West the building opens itself up to the water and a three storey glass atrium exposes the activities within. The site is unusual given that it is surrounded on three sides by water therefore the design demanded a superior architectural response which was created by Simon J. Kelly Architects.
It is projected that the location of this site amongst busy city centre life, coupled with relaxing views of the Salmon Weir Bridge, will be a major attraction for retailers and companies looking to be part of this exciting change to Galway City Centre.
